Luton Dunstable Busway Contemporary History Trail – Artwork 1

Commotion 2013

This sculpture celebrates the many forms of transport closely associated with the Dunstable area. The busway follows a former railway line. The new busway also incorporates a cycle path to encourage more cycling. The sculpture celebrates the manufacturing in the area in the past. Vauxhall cars, various lorry manufacturers  and bicycle production.

The sculpture was designed by Artist Pete Moorhouse. His ideas were informed by community consultation and workshops with several local schools; St Georges, Icknield Lower School, King’s Houghton Middle School and Central Bedfordshire College.
